2023-24: BUCCS COMPETE IN OHSWCA TEAM DUALS

CASSTOWN – The Covington Buccaneers competed in the OHSWCA Duals on Saturday at Miami East and finished 1-1 as a team with a 46-36 win over Preble Shawnee and then a 48-26 loss to Miami East.

The Buccaneers recorded eight victories over Preble Shawnee – six with pins, one on a major decision and one via forfeit. Recording pins against the Arrows were Carson Taylor, Michael Hagan, Chase Vanderhorst, Caleb Ryman, Jack Blumenstock and Aveyen Meek. Jericho Quinter recorded an impressive 14-2 major decision victory over returning state qualifier Nolan Earles. The forfeit victory was picked up by Andrew Bayse at 132 pounds.

Covington won five matches against Miami East, three via pin, one on a technical fall and another on a decision. Michael Hagan, Chase Vanderhorst and Aveyen Meek recorded the pins, while Jericho Quinter won via technical fall on a 15-0 score and Carson Taylor captured a 7-2 win over Braden Lewis at 120 pounds.

The Buccaneers travel to Coldwater on Tuesday in a double-dual against the host Cavaliers and Milton-Union.
